TRACK: OEM Clinical Practice
Inadequate quantity or quality of sleep frequently impacts the performance of drivers and workers engaged in safety sensitive work. Sleep disordered breathing will be discussed in detail, from upper airway resistance syndrome to severe obstructive and central sleep apnea. Participants will recognize and differentiate the various sleep disorders and apply behavioral and pharmacologic treatment options. Challenges facing drivers and physicians conducting obstructive sleep apnea screenings will be discussed. This session may be of particular interest to residents and recent graduates.
