TRACK: OEM Clinical Practice
This session will review best practice approaches to the evaluation of employees with tuberculin skin testing and IGRA, the advantages and disadvantages of each test at the molecular, clinical, and administrative levels and explore whether IGRA testing is more reliable in eliminating inappropriate prophylaxis in individuals with exposure to nontuberculous my co bacteria. This session will also explore the utilization of IGRA in screening for LTBI and whether Rifampin is an acceptable alternative to isoniazid in employees who may have issues with adherence to a nine month regimen. HIV testing in evaluation of LTBI in the employment setting will also be discussed. This session may be of particular interest to residents and recent graduates.
