The elements to be examined include the study hypothesis, study design, selection of the study population, data collection methods, statistical analysis, and the internal and external validity of an article. Methods learned in this course can be used as a framework to critically evaluate medical research articles in other disciplines, as well as one’s own research. This session will allow discussions of methodological, regulatory, research, ethical, or health issues raised by the article presented and also allow the audience to review statistical methods.
