TRACK: Management and Administration in OEM
This session provides guidance on appropriate use of outcomes-based incentives as part of reasonably designed wellness programs and will focus on the consensus statements developed by the HERO, ACOEM, ACS, AHA, and the ADA which involved a review of the literature, regulations, case studies, and other resources to help develop consensus on design elements through numerous group discussions. Recognizing the need to strike balance between needs of employers and employees in structuring incentive programs, the organizations compared their varying approaches and opinions in order to identify key areas of consensus. Presenters will discuss the elements of a reasonably designed wellness program that should be in place if outcomes-based incentives are deployed and identify strategies to help ensure that effective and fair programs are put in place and evaluated. This session may be of particular interest to residents and recent graduates. This session is sponsored by the Health and Productivity Special Interest Section.
