The purpose of this course is to review the 20 most commonly prescribed medications taken by patients treated in the oral health care environment. Oral sideeffects and drug interactions of significance to dentistry will be reviewed. New drugs in dentistry will be discussed, along with drugs and herbs that alter bleeding response.

Identify and discuss commonly prescribed medications taken by patients treated in the oral health care setting, and common drug interactions of significance to dental professionals.
Discuss the indications for use of new dental drugs in periodontal practice.
Describe the bleeding effects associated with common medications and herbs.
