There are several risk factors associated with periodontal disease; determining
these is key in the proper diagnosis and management of the patient. In this
presentation, attendees will learn how genetics, inheritance and epi-genetics play
a role in this process. In addition, the role of co-morbidities and how treatment
options can be affected shall be discovered. Once the risks have been identified,
steps to effectively communicate them to our patients and empower them to
assist in decision-making will be covered.
