As more people and medical providers become aware of sleep apnea, periodontists are going to be treating patients at risk of the disease or in therapy once they have been diagnosed. Research shows strong connections between sleep apnea and general inflammation. This lecture will connect the dots between sleep apnea and periodontitis, and touch on how sleep apnea is diagnosed and managed by physicians and dentists.

• Discuss OSA diagnosis and therapy with their patients.
• Gain insight into one possibility why some patients are not responding to treatment.
• Share common language with dentists and physicians while discussing airway problems.
