21AAP-GS6: We Are Better Together: Perio-Pros Collaborations for Complex Cases

Providing the best function, health, and esthetics for patients with compromised dentitions is challenging and requires collaboration between the periodontist and restorative dentist. This challenge becomes even more critical when placing implants in cases with moderate to advanced periodontal disease. This course will address the importance of communication between providers and the patient to ensure that expectations and goals are met.
 
Educational Objectives:
• Discuss treatment planning and decision-making for complex perio-restorative cases with esthetic concerns.
• Review the importance of timing and sequencing between the periodontist and restorative dentist in managing advanced periodontal and restorative cases.
• Describe the limitations of treatment based on the case presentation.
• Recognize the importance of long-term management and maintenance.
