Inter-office communication is as important as ever before – but have the rules grown along with the various options for information transmission? Dr. Farber will be discussing HIPAA laws as they relate to the process and practice of sharing information not only between dentists, but also between the dentist and patient.

• Recognize the options for and the legality of emailing patient data.
• Assess the costs involved in becoming “legitimate.”
• Be able to answer: Is encryption necessary?
• Participate in discussion of options and pros/cons of available software.
