For those of you who attended Knee, Shoulder, Spine – Exam and Imaging, or those who were already familiar with the information covered in that session, this session will go forward to address more advanced issues encountered in these common occupational orthopedic conditions. OM providers, in order to be able to guide and advise their patients, need to understand the types of treatments
available. This session will include both surgical and non-surgical approaches and also address treatments that have been shown not to provide any clinical benefit. Next, the question of return to work will be address, including realistic restrictions and typical time frames until return to full duty can be expected. Lastly, there will be discussion about which conditions may lead to the need for permanent restrictions and what those restrictions may be. This session may be of particular interest to residents and recent graduates.
