What It’s About:
OSHA enforcement is at historically high levels, and the number of inspections and violations are up significantly over the last several years. Home builders face unique OSHA compliance challenges due to the prevalence of multiple-employers on work sites: because OSHA views the various employers differently, a builder's obligations will also frequently differ - making it extremely complex to understand. This session will explore the different obligations you have in the multi-employer work environment and provide solutions for addressing them depending on which type of employers (e.g., general contractors, owners, sub-contractors, etc.) are on your site.
What You'll Learn:
Learn current OSHA enforcement program activity and enforcement techniques specific to the home building industry.
Understand OSHA's multi-employer work site doctrine, which guides the agency's prosecutorial discretion on construction work sites.
Gain a deeper understanding of the multi-employer work site doctrine for each type of employer on site and also for the general OSHA obligations.
