The use of implants has broadened the treatment options for dental patients who present with failing teeth. There are, however, many instances where keeping the tooth should not be viewed as a heroic measure, but rather the treatment of choice. Due to the advances in regenerative procedures that can provide more predictable treatment outcomes, we are better able to treat teeth with advanced osseous lesions. By meeting our patients’ desires to maintain their natural dentition in health, comfort and function, the periodontist is in the unique position to be the “go-to provider” for treatment planning and patient care. This course will reaffirm this philosophy. Two clinicians who wholly embrace regeneration in their practices will discuss and demonstrate various regenerative procedures designed to save teeth. Indications as well as stepby-step descriptions of these procedures will allow the participants to learn when, when not and how to perform these techniques. Regenerative materials will also be discussed and evaluated.
