When it comes to the exterior of the home in construction, water management is a big deal. The last thing you want is water penetrating the home’s envelope. The market offers several products from which to choose -from house wraps to foam
sheathing to OSB with facers. All rely on tapes and sealants to join the seams together, but do they really work? Water enters through nail holes, staple holes and windows. Does this matter? What happens when it is extremely cold or hot when we are doing this work? And how do these methods compare to the old fashioned tar paper installed shingle fashion? This session will explore the various products on the market and help answer your questions, from “What happens when...” to “Shouldn’t the wall breathe?” and many more.
