Developing innovative therapeutic approaches to manage periodontal and peri-implant bone loss begins with understanding the role of the host in pathologic bone diseases, from periodontal diseases to osteoporosis. Along with defining advances in the molecular controls regulating bone, tooth and periodontal tissue development, this knowledge offers exciting new prospects in regenerative therapy.
